Develop appropriate behavioral CLINICAL OBJECTIVES for Clinical Practicum which reflect course objectives and are specific to the setting and learner (approximately 120 hours).
Submit behavioral objectives to faculty for approval before beginning clinical for approval/signature.
Present behavioral objectives pertaining to your clinical practicum to your preceptor and review.
Provide faculty with a schedule of planned clinical activities related to your individualized precepted clinical experiences (approximately 120 hours) and Clinical Project (approximately 114 hours). Notify faculty in writing and revise your schedule if a change in plans is necessary. Faculty should be notified of all clinical activities before student engages in the activity.
A clinical journal and time log is to be submitted to faculty at mid-term and at the completion of NU 540.
The journal should reflect all clinical activities for the semester, including activities related to the Clinical Practicum objectives above as well as activities related to the Clinical Project. The clinical journal includes the following:
Date and Week
Clinical objective(s) which student is addressing to serve as a guide for Clinical Practicum and/or activities related to the Clinical Project.
Documentation of activities performed and interpretation of value and meaning of the learning experience for the student.
The clinical time log is used to document a cumulative record of time spent in clinical during the semester.
