“Digital Forensics” Please respond to the following:
From the first e-Activity, discuss the fundamental advantages that the commercial forensic packages offered to forensic investigators. Next, speculate on whether there is an overall disadvantage(s) to using commercial packages in digital forensics. Justify your response.
From the second e-Activity, discuss the key process that a forensic analyst could use in order to preserve the verifiable integrity of digital evidence. Next, identify the main tools or technologies that the forensic analyst could use in order to ensure that the original evidence is unmodified.

RE: Week 9 Discussion
The major advantage of commercial forensic packages are dedicated technical support and admissibility in court. The computer forensic field is somehow new, so the dedicated technical programs are created costs of an to be used by law enforcement to extract digital evidence, the information would be admissible in court. Disadvantages may include a high initial cost for the package and continued costs of annual licensing and maintenance.
The key process that a forensic analyst could use in order to preserve the verifiable integrity of digital evidence begins with written documentation of the steps to properly mantain securiy, for example chain of custody. Next, the analyst can create redundant physical copies or duplicates kept in an alternative place to avoid loss of evidence the case of a disaster. The analyst could use physical security to prevent the evidence from being modified and stopping unauthorized access to data or the loss of data.

Marijuana is a plant whose scientific name is Cannabis sativa. Although the plant contains hundreds of compounds, the one that has major intoxicating effects is called tetrahydrocannibinol (THC). While medical marijuana is legal in a few states of the United States, it is one of many illegal drugs in most jurisdictions and is the most commonly abused illegal substance worldwide. Medical marijuana is also called marinol (Dronabinol), a synthetic form of marijuana. It comes in capsules and is used to treat poor appetite and fooe intake (anorexia), with weight loss in people with acquired immune deficiency syndrone (AIDS), and for nausea and vomitting due to cancer chemotheraphy in persons who have not responded adequately to usual treatments for those symptoms. Glaucoma is another condition proponents of medical marijuana use to strengthen their argument for its medicinal purposes. Multiple studies found that Cannabis can decrease inter-ocular pressure (IOP), the underlying cause of glaucoma, by lowering blood pressure in general. The Cannabis for treatment can be oral, or intravenous or can be smoked. However, while these avenues most easily can decrease IOP, they also carry the largest risk for adverse side effects as opposed to eye drops which has few or zero side effects. One of the strongest arguments against use of marijuana is its adverse health effects, especially if used in the long term. A 2014 research, found clinical evidence to support the assertions that marijuana causes or contributes to Cannabis dependence, chronic bronchitis due to compromise respiratory system, cognitive impairment; including to memory, learning and attention functions. Most of the opposition to legalize marijuana for medicinal or recreational purposes is based upon the risk of adverse effects (long-term use), negative outcomes for those who use marijuana as teens and adverse effects when used for specific conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (Wu, 2016).
As long as Cannabis is naturally grown, and is found to alleviate pain for some medical purposes, I don’t see why it cannot be used for treatment. If it is indeed effective. However, I really have a problem with smoking the marijuana. I think that while it might temporarily reduce pain in some instances, I would think that longterm smoking would damage some vital organs over time.
