The Executive Summary is another written method for dissemination of my DNP quality improvement project. The executive summary is typically a one to two-page document that summarizes the purpose, goals, and approach of the design of the project. Reading the executive summary should give any evaluator a clear idea of the need or problem, the approach or method to solving it and a discussion of the outcomes. Consider it an abstract or overview of the project. The executive summary should give the reader the highlights of the project without getting into the fine details; being concise is the key.
The overall executive summary should typically be between 1 – 2 pages and should include, but not be limited to:
Specific Project Goals/Aims
Methods (Including Implementation and Evaluation)
Results
Conclusion
Future Recommendations or Implications
