Introduction
The Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA provides psychiatric services to individuals who require medication to stabilize from a psychiatric or acute emotional crisis irrespective of whether the crisis is caused by alcohol or substance abuse. Treatment is coordinated by a team of experts including clinical social workers, psychiatric physicians, psychologists, medical specialists, occupational therapists, and the nursing staff. The medical facility offers both inpatient and outpatient services. The ICU, Acute, and Substance Abuse Adult Psychiatry Inpatient Unit is used by hospitalized adult patients. The medical facility also offers partial hospitalization programs such as the Intensive Outpatient Program and the Adult Partial Hospitalization program. The programs target patients who are diagnosed with a severe mental illness (Resnick NeuroPsychiatric Hospital, 2014).
