Assessment of communication should include these factors with the understanding that communication is rarely perfect. If you were a team leader, what might you routinely include in your assessment of the team’s communication? Develop a checklist of critical elements to assess. Ask your preceptor the following questions (if your preceptor is not in leadership, ask the charge nurse/nurse manager/director): (Write the preceptor’s answers in a paper). No names needed.
i) What is your role in the leadership team?
ii) What are the key management skills/competencies you use?
iii) What style of leadership do you use and why?

Based on preceptor’s responses, explain if the responses will contribute to effective or ineffective collaborations within a team.

CRITICAL: Use your references to support the interviewee’s responses.

c; Interview a Registered Nurse that works in a community setting (Examples of a community setting could be a school nurse, prison, hospice, parish nursing, occupational health nursing or case manager, Red Cross, public health, health department, mental health, substance abuse (This role is outside a hospital, hospital ER and/or nursing home). Discuss:

i) Who are the clients you serve in this role?
ii) What health related goals are of concern to the clients you serve?
iii) What are the responsibilities of community nurse? Can be daily or overall summary
iv) Support or recommend two nursing interventions that can help respect a patient’s culture while in the health, home care/community setting.
V) What type of end of life care do you or your agency provide?
vi) What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Do not put where they work or other private information. Cite according to APA guidelines.
