The critical thought applied in the crafting of evaluation questions frequently determines the success of the program evaluation process. Therefore, for this assignment you are asked to review your chosen public health program and complete the following:
Develop a set of five potential evaluation questions.
Avoid asking questions that could be answered with a yes or no response, or with a purely quantitative answer. (Ex: “Is the program achieving its stated health mission?” or “How many clients were served by the organization?”)
Assess your evaluation questions using the Step 3: 2.1 checklist for on page 49 (see also pages 17 to 21) from your required Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reading.
Determine the ones likely to provide the most useful information for an effective evaluation.
Complete and include the CDC checklist for each evaluation question in your submission.
If a question meets a criterion,
Justify, briefly, how it meets the criterion (one to two sentences).
If a question does not meet a criterion,
Defend why the question merits inclusion in your evaluation even though it does not meet the criterion (at least two sentences).
Prioritize the evaluation questions you developed in terms of order by assessing the potential of their answers to improve the short- and long-term outcomes of your chosen program related to the health issue of focus.
Justify the above prioritization of the evaluation questions.
