Abstract: should be APA style of 250 words
An abstract is a summary of a research article, thesis, review, conference proceeding, or any in-depth analysis of a subject and is often used to help the reader quickly ascertain the paper’s purpose. When used, an abstract always appears at the beginning of a manuscript or typescript, acting as the point-of-entry for any given academic paper or patent application. Abstracting and indexing services for various academic disciplines are aimed at compiling a body of literature
PICOT Question
P: Population: Adult patients 40 to 60 year old with acute respiratory distress syndrome
I: Intervention: The effects of placing patients in ARDS in prone position (prone ventilation)
C: Comparison: Patient in ARDS on supine position and ventilation
O: Outcome: During prone ventilation, the heart becomes dependent, lying on the sternum, potentially decreasing medial posterior lung compression. These effects improve ventilation and oxygenation. Ventilation/perfusion match also improves when the patient is moved into the prone position
T: Time: 17 hours per day with an average of four sessions in total per patient
PICOT Question: Does placing Adult patients between the 40 to 60 year old with Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome in a prone position improve ventilation and mortality versus leaving them in the supine position while on mechanical ventilator support? age group is 40 to 50 years old with ARDS
