One of the most common substances humans use is tobacco (nicotine) for smoking. This problem is even more significant for people with mental disorders. The adverse health effects of tobacco use are well established, and it is the responsibility of all health care professionals to ask about present and past smoking activities at every visit and to encourage/support quitting.
Create a patient-oriented educational sheet of 1 page (approximately 350 words) that explains nicotine replacement therapy. Include all potential medication options, how each works, dosing schedules, and ultimate goals.
