The topic for unit 3 is focused on the older adult assessment and the process of aging that includes frailty. Frailty is a geriatric syndrome which has been link to adverse health outcomes in the older adult population. It is characterized by weakness, weight loss, decrease physical activity, and fatigue that is unrelated to other age-related processes (Fedarko, 2012). Not only are we evaluating and creating a plan to care for our older adult patient, but we must also consider the caregiver and how we may support them during this process.
