The DNP-Prepared Nurse as an Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur
Discussion
Purpose
The purpose of this discussion is to evaluate the skills and competencies needed to be an effective and innovative entrepreneur/intrapreneur to promote high-quality patient-centered care through service and advocacy on healthcare and non-healthcare advisory groups and task forces.
Instructions
Reflect on the lesson and readings this week and respond to the following:
• Explore your projected DNP practicum project’s evidence-based intervention to the identified practice problem and pitch your idea to the class “audience” (as you might when pitching your DNP project to hospital leadership). As you pitch your idea, explain why the selected intervention (for your DNP practicum project) would be effective in the following ways to fix the practice gap:
a. Innovative
b. Promoting safe, high-quality patient-centered care
c. Intrapreneurial (Entrepreneurial would only be for creating a new business.)
