HERE IS INFORMATION ON TOPIC PLEASE USE.
Introduction
Because nurses practice in a complex, multi-cultural diverse environment, it is important for them to understand how morals and values relate to patient outcomes. Morals are the ethics of an individual person that guide their behaviors and choices (Blais and Hayes, 2011, p.53). Values are individual beliefs about the merit of a person, object, idea or action. Typically, values are derived from culture, ethnic and societal affiliations, religious backgrounds and family and peer groups (Blais and Hayes, 2011, p. 50).

There is no doubt that the morals and values of a group of individuals can be linked to patient outcomes. Epstein and Street (2011) found “A good outcome must be defined in terms of what is meaningful and valuable to the individual patient.”

In health care, the concept of a patient-centered care means different things to healthcare providers. Providing genuine patient-centered care has to do with the quality of interactions between patients and healthcare providers. Epstein, Fiscella, Lesser and Stange (2010) found:

A patient-centered approach fosters interactions in which clinicians and patients engage in two-way sharing of information; explore patients’ values and preferences; help patients and their families make clinical decisions; facilitate access to appropriate care; and enable patients to follow through with often difficult behavioral changes needed to maintain or improve health…. The evidence shows that patient-centered care improves disease outcomes and quality of life, and that it is critical to addressing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in health care and health outcomes… Policy makers need to look beyond such areas as health information technology to shape a coordinated and focused national policy in support of patient-centered care. This policy should help health professionals acquire and maintain skills related to patient-centered care, and it should encourage organizations to cultivate a culture of patient-centeredness.
