This current DNP project has identified the need for enhance health literacy among parents who reside in shelter with children under five years old. Low health literacy can overall impact pediatric health. The project will focus on childhood vaccines for children up to five years old. The project aims to analyze current research into practice development. The PICOT format for this project is as following (P) Low healthy literacy in parents generates lack of knowledge surrounding childhood vaccines. (I) The intervention that will be used to enhance parental health literacy will be education and resources. (C) The author would provide education and resources with parents and others would only learn the vaccine status of their children. (O) The outcome of the project is to enhance childhood vaccine status. (T) The period of the project is over eight months.
