You are the chief executive officer (CEO) of an acute-care hospital. The governing board has expressed interest in adding a new service line, a twenty-bed geriatric psychiatric unit. This unit would be constructed in an existing vacant space within the hospital.

Create a preliminary market analysis for a geriatric psychiatric unit. Your primary focus for this project is to research credible sources for data that should be used in creating an evidence-based analysis. This analysis will then be used to determine the need and potential success or failure of the new service line.

Assume the unit will maintain a census of twenty patients per day. The market analysis must include the following data:

Population of the service area that will be required to support the new service line
Satisfaction of geriatric psychiatric patients in other similar organizations
Profits in other similar service lines
Requirements and costs for staffing the unit

Part 1:
Write a 2–3 page evaluation of the quality improvement program that you have created. This should be the annual summary of the hypothetical data. Make sure your hypothetical data are credible.

Part 2:
As you may recall from Week 1, your Course Project was to prepare a total quality improvement program, with a focus on one high-risk area. Continuous quality improvement covers many areas. Throughout the course, you have learned about the attributes that constitute a quality improvement team and what questions this team attempts to answer. The assignments toward this project that you completed each week can now be assembled into a single instructional document.

Make necessary adjustments to your document so that each segment flows smoothly into the next. Evaluate your project using the criteria given below.

Are the indicators and their measurements appropriate to the high-risk area? Do the indicators capture the risk?
Are the fictional incidents realistic and plausible?
Is the filled chart consistent with the fictional incident?
Is the plan of correction feasible? Will it prevent the occurrence of the incident in future?
How do you know the plan worked? What measures will you use to identify effectiveness?
Include an introduction, conclusion and reference page to this assignment.

This week there are three tasks to do. First, you will work on the user training phase of the system implementation, considering the following in 3-5 pages:

Second, this week is final phase of the system implementation that results in the acceptance, rejection, or modification of the project, and release, suspension, or deduction of the contracted amount to the vendor(s)—system maintenance. Complete this section in 2-3 pages.

Ensure that all hardware work together.
Ensure that every function of every application of the computer system works and the system meets the functional requirements and the RFP specifications.
Ensure that data between different systems interfaces and is transferred smoothly and in correct format.
Ensure correct transference of data from old to new system (conversion testing).
Ensure that the system can work under maximum load (volume/stress testing).
Verify that the system works as expected in a live environment.
Third, combine your earlier Final Project papers into a single cohesive document with appropriate transitions and editing.
