As an FNP, you will discover, treat, and maintain many patients with chronic kidney disease. Therefore, it is essential that you are well versed in the disease.
At the end of this assignment, you will be able to demonstrate advanced skills in the physical assessment, diagnostics, pharmacology, and nursing interventions in the treatment of chronic kidney failure. (CO7)
Assignment Guidelines
Develop a written response that addresses each of the following bullet points. Use your Primary Care: Interprofessional Collaborative Practice textbook along with at least one other source for your information.
• Identify the categories of CKD (GFR).
• Explain what causes chronic kidney failure (CKF).
• Explain the guideline for diagnostics.
• Identify risk factors associated with CKF.
• Explain cardiac, dietary, metabolic, and hematologic management needed for patients diagnosed with CKF.
• Note which medications should not be used, or used with caution, to treat CKF.
Your paper should include a title page and a reference page. Be sure to cite your references. Use proper APA format.
