There have been some other changes that affect reimbursement and the nurse practitioner’s authority. In the state of Arkansas, a nurse practitioner can now be designated as a primary care provider. They will also now be reimbursed through Medicaid programs. When it comes to the federal level, CMS has since removed some of the barriers to the nurse practitioners practice since COVID-19 pandemic has begun. Nurse practitioners are now allowed to provide more medical services in skilled nursing facilities. They are all also now able to do tele-health visits in long-term care facilities (Kleinpell et al., 2023)
