Environmental stress on children in complex built environments, is the topic of my thesis. I will be looking at what factors can directly affect children in such complex environments specifically in hospitals. I want to focus of children who are terminally ill vs those who are not. I would also like to stress the sensitivity and fragile psycho-social nature that makes children vulnerable when they are hospitalized for long periods of time. I’d like to prove that the risks are greater for young ones who are dealing with terminal illness and how their surrounding environments architecturally (being indoors too long, being in dull spaces too long) can affect their over all well being.
