Background
The purpose of this essay is to discuss the background of the healthcare organizations’ competition that has been created in “The Bay Area” of the Northern California. The main driver that has created and fueled this fierce competition has been the changes in the health insurance reimbursement under the Affordable Care Act (hhs.gov, 2015). The essay will discuss the changes in submission for reimbursement for the health care providers. In addition, the essay will share how the approach to the care provided has switched from treatment to prevention and the scope of the services provided by each health care organization. Finally the essay will discuss the changes in the payer mix in this geographic location and the unique problems of attracting industries and patients.
